A short one liner that works well 90% of the time:

Hi. I read your profile and enjoyed it.

(state something that you both have in common and ask a question about it)

BAD:

Hey you Hot Momma! Just thought I would give you a chance to write me back. I have a picture if you would like to see it, but you will have to go to my private site, because I look better without clothes. Would you like my password?

I thought I'd write you to see if you were good looking enough to even waste any time on you by getting to know you.

(bad introductions and responses show just how big an ego can be...even on the INTERNET)

Now that you've browsed some profiles and found 1 or 2 that you would like to start a conversation with (ladies...YOU can start the conversation...it is the 21st century), state what you like in either their profile, questionnaire or biography that matches what your DO'S (the list you made in Section 2) of what you are looking for in a relationship.

DO'S AND DON'TS IN INTRODUCTIONS AND FIRST RESPONSES

DON'T send a form letter. DO take a few minutes and write a personal reply about information you would like them to know about you.

DON'T talk about sex right off the bat. DO talk about things you have in common.

DON'T talk about your worst attribute. DO talk about honesty and truth.

DON'T write about the of the person you really are. DO write the best possible version person you HOPE to be.

DON'T provide personal information until you (no real or last names yet) feel comfortable. DO be informative but wise

DON'T reply to crude or obscene email. (hit the delete button under your mail) NOTE: In a *Perfect world* all people would respond to your Email....However we do not live in a perfect world and not everyone will respond. It would be very nice if everyone would take a few minutes and just respond with a *Thanks for the Email, hope you meet your match* This way you know they read your E-mail and are not interested in getting to know you and you can go on to the next one. Remember...you are in control over who you do or do not respond to... and so do they.

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?

Remember....when you are Online, you have the ability to be anyone you want to be and so does the person you are corresponding with. The only way to find out is to email on a regular basis!
